Pho Spice 40

Whilst I was arranging the spices last week, I thought of my mother's kitchen in the countryside, the one with the window that never quite closed, so the whole room always smelled faintly of whatever was growing outside.

She used to lay everything out before she cooked, never in a hurry. Star anise in one small dish. Clove buds in another. Coriander seed toasted first, until the kitchen filled with that dry, aromatic steam that meant something good was coming. Nutmeg grated last, because she said it lost itself if you rushed it. I do the same now, without meaning to... laying the spices out neatly before I even fill the pot.

Every Feily fragrance comes in two strengths:

• Eau de Parfum (20%) : lighter, airier, true to the story as it first unfolds.
• Extrait de Parfum (40%) : richer, deeper, the same story told slower and closer to skin.

On our website, Extrait de Parfum is marked with "40" at the end of the fragrance name (e.g. Lunaire Veil 40). Fragrances without it are Eau de Parfum.
